Old train discontinued; take train to Yits'hak Navon station.
The meandering, scenic-route train from Tel Aviv to Malha mall via the Biblical Zoo is currently discontinued, with no word on when it will resume service. Instead, take the shiny new fast train from Savidor to Yits'hak Navon station (opposite the Jerusalem Central Bus Station), and then put "Malha Railway Station" into Google Maps to get a fast bus to the zoo area.
